Freight Forwarder
Port Klang.

Sea, air and multimodal forwarding through Westport, Northport and KLIA. Run by people who have moved cargo through Port Klang for 25 years — and built the systems to keep your container in the free-storage window every time.

ISO 9001 · Since 1999 JKDM Licensed FIATA · FMFF Member 1,000+ TEUs / month

DNE Forwarding has cleared and coordinated freight through Port Klang since 1999. Today we handle over 1,000 TEUs each month across customs clearance, container haulage, and FTZ warehousing — all run from one Klang office, all visible to clients through the WizForwarding portal.

If you import or export through Port Klang — whether through Westport, Northport, or the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) — you need a forwarder who knows the terminal layouts, the customs officers, the haulier circuit, and the regulatory landscape. Cargo doesn't move at the speed of spreadsheets; it moves at the speed of the people on the ground. That's the part DNE has spent 25 years getting right.

What we do as your forwarding agent

A freight forwarder is the link between you and everything else — the carrier, the terminal, the customs department, the haulier, the warehouse. We absorb the operational complexity so your team focuses on production and sales.

Why choose DNE specifically

01 / Time on the ground
25 years at Port Klang
Vincent Duar founded DNE in 1999 as a customs brokerage. Many of our staff have over a decade with us. We know which customs officers handle which cargo lanes, which haulier has VIP fleet access during Hari Raya, and which Westport gates clear fastest.
02 / Real-time visibility
WizForwarding portal
Every client gets login access to WizForwarding — our proprietary ERP. Live container tracking, job history, billing, proof-of-delivery, and LHDN-compliant e-invoicing. No more calling for status updates.
03 / Documentation discipline
99%+ compliance rate
Our internal documentation accuracy rate is over 99%. That means containers move within the free storage window, vessels don't sail without your cargo, and you don't pay penalties because someone else made a typo.
04 / Transparent pricing
What we quote is what you pay
Every quote is itemised: ocean freight, port charges, customs duty and SST, haulage, documentation, demurrage if expected. No hidden surcharges show up later. If a rate changes mid-shipment (rare), we tell you before it hits your invoice.

How a typical shipment moves

Whether you're a first-time importer or running 100 containers a month, our process is the same five-step playbook, refined over 25 years.

1. Inquiry and quote

You WhatsApp us with origin, destination, cargo description, volume, and any special handling needs (DG, oversized, temperature-controlled). We respond within 5 minutes during business hours with an indicative rate. If you confirm, we issue a formal quotation with the full itemised cost breakdown within the same business day.

2. Booking and documentation

Once you accept the quote, we book vessel space (or air freight) with the appropriate carrier, prepare the Shipping Instructions, and coordinate with your origin shipper. Bill of Lading, packing list, commercial invoice, Certificate of Origin, and any special permits are checked before vessel arrival so customs clearance starts immediately.

3. Arrival, declaration, and clearance

When your container arrives at Westport or Northport, we file the K1 declaration through MyCIEDS within hours of receiving the final documents. Standard cargo typically clears in 24-48 hours from declaration. Container release happens well before the 3-5 day free storage window expires, so no demurrage. Dangerous goods, permit-controlled goods, and DDP shipments take longer — we'll flag this upfront in the quote.

4. Haulage to your floor

Our own GPS-tracked fleet handles haulage across Selangor and the Klang Valley. For Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Johor, Penang, or further north, we coordinate with established haulage partners who meet our SOPs. Live tracking is visible on WizForwarding throughout.

5. Delivery, POD, and e-invoice

Signed proof-of-delivery is uploaded to your portal the same day. Final invoice — matching the original quote item-by-item — is issued as LHDN-compliant e-invoice. You see every charge, every receipt, every document.

Westport, Northport, or KLIA — which is right?

Port Klang is actually two ports — Westport Malaysia (the larger, deeper, newer terminal) and Northport. Most container traffic uses Westport because of the bigger berths and faster productivity. Northport still handles a major share of conventional cargo, dry bulk, and certain liner services. For air freight, KLIA Cargo Terminal handles all major freighter services, with smaller volumes through Subang and KLIA2.

DNE clears containers through both Westport and Northport routinely. The right terminal for your cargo depends on the carrier's berthing schedule, not your preference — we'll advise during the booking stage. Read our complete Westport vs Northport guide for the full operational comparison.

Pricing — what determines your quote

There is no single "Port Klang freight forwarder rate". A 40-foot container from Shenzhen to Port Klang in May 2026 averaged USD 1,200-1,400 in ocean freight (40GP rates jumped 22% in April), plus around RM 1,800-2,500 in port charges, customs duty (varies by HS code, often zero under RCEP/ACFTA), 5-10% SST on dutiable goods, RM 800-1,400 in haulage to a Klang Valley consignee, and RM 200-400 in documentation.

Air freight to KLIA from China was averaging USD 4-6/kg in May 2026 — but rates fluctuate weekly. Read our latest sea-vs-air mode-switch analysis for the per-kg break-even math, or just WhatsApp us with your shipment specifics for a same-day indicative quote.

FAQ

Questions before you ship.

What does a freight forwarder at Port Klang actually do?

A Port Klang freight forwarder books vessel or air space, prepares all shipping and customs documentation, coordinates with port and terminal operators (Westport and Northport), arranges container haulage from the port to the consignee, files customs declarations with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), and handles post-clearance billing including SST. DNE manages all of this end-to-end so importers and exporters deal with one company instead of five.

How long does it take to ship from China to Port Klang?

Sea freight transit time from major Chinese ports (Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen) to Port Klang is typically 7-14 days door-to-port, depending on the carrier and routing. Add 2-3 days for customs clearance and 1-2 days for haulage to your factory or warehouse. Air freight from China is 1-3 days. DNE quotes transit time upfront so you can plan production accordingly.

Is DNE a licensed freight forwarder in Malaysia?

Yes. DNE Forwarding (M) Sdn Bhd (Co. Reg. 538624-W) is a licensed forwarding agent under the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM). DNE is also ISO 9001 certified for Quality Management, a member of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations), and a member of the Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF).

Do you handle FCL, LCL, and air freight?

Yes. DNE handles Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) sea freight through both Westport and Northport at Port Klang. Air freight is handled through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). For multimodal shipments — sea to Port Klang then haulage to a Penang or Johor consignee, for example — DNE coordinates the entire chain so you have one partner.

How much does freight forwarding cost at Port Klang?

Forwarding rates vary by origin, destination, cargo type, volume, and mode. A 40-foot container from Shenzhen to Port Klang in May 2026 was approximately USD 1,200-1,400 in ocean freight plus port, customs, duty/SST, and haulage charges. DNE quotes every charge itemised with no hidden surcharges. WhatsApp +6012 661 2139 with your shipment details for a same-day indicative quote.

Can DNE handle dangerous goods through Port Klang?

This includes documentation, MSDS preparation, hazardous goods declarations, packing and labelling verification, and coordination with the port DG control procedures. Common DG cargo we move includes lithium batteries, paints, flammable liquids, and corrosives.
